In November of 2019, the SSA proposed 84 FR 63588. This rule was designed to add a category to the existing medical diary categories which are used to schedule Continuing Disability Reviews (CDRs). The rule would have also revised the criteria for assigning each of the medical diary categories to cases.
Continuing Disability Reviews (CDRs) are reviews by the Social Security Administration to check in on Claimants and ensure that they are still disabled. They is a necessary part of the disability process, but in late 2019, rules were proposed to escalate how frequently these occur, despite no data suggesting that such an esclation was needed or would increase efficiency of the program.
Today, notice that this rule was withdrawn and you can read about it here.
